Why do I choose to date a transgender person? To increase my wardrobe! A typical joke among the wives' or SO's of people in the tg community. My views are limited only by my personal experiences. I do not speak for every woman that chooses or comes upon dating one of these special people.
As a female, I crossdress every day, baggy jeans, pant suits, and my favorite Doc Martin boots. I just look at these as clothes that fit my mood or situation. Cotton, spandex, lace, lycra, polyester, & wool - what these are - sexless fabrics.
Why I choose to date someone that is TG, is not just because of clothing. I believe that clothing or make-up alone can not define the female spirit, but more of what you are inside. In my time living this life, I am quite aware of the qualities that I possess. Having the luck of being born female, we tend to have a silent strength. We cry if we get too happy, or too sad. We try resolving problems by talking, not physical violence. When the time comes and we are ready for "motherhood", we can handle extreme pain and survive with little sleep. Some of us are more likely to forgive (not always forget) and mainly try to cope with our struggles.
So has every genetic female you have ever encountered been a social and well-mannered princess...No way. I'm the first to admit I get highly competitive when I play sports or work. So why are we such contradictions, good question, but we do have these natural gentle instincts at our core. Being a female and heterosexual has been difficult at times. So many men don't have the emotional, nurturing, and sensitive reactions that we do. Sensitive, thoughtful, good men are hard to find these days. Throughout my life I have wanted a man that had the inner workings that we are born with. Is it then too much to ask that he not just feel our feminine nature, but express his femme self through clothing. Although it can sometimes be a sexual thrill, sex alone is no reason to date or marry another person. The actual emotional configuration inside a person, that is what is truly attractive and beautiful. That is a person worthy of loving and receiving your love.
